Paper Stool is a playful exploration of material perception and expectation. The piece consists of a simple metal frame and a thin metal sheet that is placed loosely on top to form the seat. Although made entirely of metal, the sheet adopts a characteristic typically associated with paper its edges gently bend and hang down as if softened by gravity.
By translating a paper like quality into metal, the design challenges conventional ideas of strength, rigidity, and industrial aesthetics. Paper Stool experiments with the visual and structural language of metal, removing it from its familiar context and inviting a new, lighter interpretation of the material.
